The Wadaiko and Shakuhachi represent the sweat, the rising cheer, the stirring excitement and souls about to burst with tremendous energy. Soft feminine elements as well as the joyful nature of the festival are expressed though the keynotes of the shamisen.
These two sounds are also combined to convey the unification of conflicting forces and the joy of sharing a common future.
Many of these songs were composed for EXPO 2005 to represent the many faces of a Matsuri. The excitement, beauty and respect for nature are translated into strong beats from the wadaiko and gentle rhythms of the shamisen. (11 tracks)
